Innovation Reactor Program
What could you create with some inspiration, new friends, support from experienced innovators and up to $5000 in innovation grants? Join us to find out, and know that as you go through the program, our team will be there to help you at every step of the way. This program has been designed to provide students and post-docs with an accessible and supportive environment to explore the world of innovation.
Energy New Venture Competition
Open to seed-stage companies, budding entrepreneurs, researchers, and students from around the globe, the Energy New Venture Competition (ENV) offers competitors a comprehensive mentorship and professional training program led by Platform Calgary. The competition also provides valuable exposure to investors and industry leaders with the chance of winning more than $100,000 in cash and in-kind prizes.
Summer Incubator Program
The Summer Incubator Program, powered by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking, is a non-credit program that provides graduate student entrepreneurs with access to everything you’ll need to launch and grow your startup.
Global Entrepreneurship Week
Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is an international event celebrating innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity. GEW brings together aspiring and inspiring entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, designers and innovative thinkers in over 165 countries on campuses and in the communities they serve.
TENET i2c Program
The TENET Innovation to Commercialization (TENET i2c) program provides funding and training to University of Calgary researchers, clinicians, postdocs, graduate students and staff to transform their health research into a commercial product with a chance to win up to $100,000 to commercialize their product.
Entrepreneurial Thinking Theme Months
Our entrepreneurial thinking theme months showcases entrepreneurs and innovators with a broad range of ideas and expertise. Each month’s theme will be highlighted through various events, panels and activities at the Hunter Hub or Platform Calgary.
Cannon Lachapelle Award in Entrepreneurial Thinking
This award is for undergraduate students who embody entrepreneurial thinking. The award recipient will receive $10,000 for demonstrating creativity and innovation that supports the University campus and the Calgary community.
Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (C.E.O.)
Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (C.E.O.) Calgary is a network of post-secondary students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members interested in entrepreneurship and innovation. There are currently over 250 chapters worldwide, with C.E.O. Calgary being the first in Alberta.
Falling Walls UCalgary Competition
Falling Walls is an international forum to showcase the next generation of outstanding innovators and creative thinkers. Think TEDtalk + Dragon’s Den for a fast-paced, exciting way to share great ideas with the potential improve society.
WELab is a female entrepreneurship education and mentorship program, designed to inspire and develop the next generation of women entrepreneurs, leaders and changemakers across diverse disciplines.
REALISE Entrepreneurial Program
The REALISE entrepreneurial series offers program participants an overview of entrepreneurial thinking, entrepreneurship and innovation to support their entrepreneurial activities.
